Who do you think you are? The voice in my head said. As I waited and waited for the voice to dissipate. It never did. I fooled myself year after year for believing in the falseness of this noise. In my mind it made sense that I should somehow know everything about life before I shared my thoughts and ideas. Like I would suddenly wake up one morning and say “oh, I finally got it!”. How many of us aren’t walking around with these thoughts? That our interests, gifts or abilities don’t matter? That we don’t matter?
Whenever I approach this issue with a logical mind, I never seem to get very far. Our very logical predictions don’t really seem to deliver what they promise. They just leave us with the regret of not knowing what would have happened if we didn’t give away our power to them. We’re trying to fight nature. As you probably know by looking around you, humans thinking they know better than nature itself never ends up with a happy ending. Nature has evolved perfectly for all species, plants and rivers to cooperate in an ecosystem that makes the Earth flourish. When we’re not being our authentic selves and expressing ourselves the way we’re supposed to, we’re actually going against nature - and nature pushes back.
You may not know why your modern art business never seems to take off, even when you apply all the knowledge of every successful entrepreneur and artist. What you don’t know is that your mission and path in life is to draw classical paintings. It’s something you’ve always loved doing. Even if it makes logical sense that a classical art business may be a riskier choice, it’s always going to work out if it’s meant to be. Even if it doesn’t work out, it will put you on the path that you are meant to walk. The path that will bring you the lessons and greater outcomes that you were meant to experience and achieve. It’s not logical to you, but it’s logical in the grand scheme of it all.
This is what I see when I look at these two oracle cards. They’re reminding me of how unexpected and magical things occur when we express our true selves. What would happen if all of us decided to be seen and heard just as we are, just as we want? When I pulled out these two cards, I could feel the heaviness of all the repressed ideas, gifts and talents that we hold. I could also feel the curiosity and excitement of how it would be like to break free, that many of us also (secretly) hold within us.
When we look around and try to interpret other people's responses to us, we’re not being our authentic selves. We deprive the world of our gifts and we deprive ourselves of life’s blessings. We deprive life itself of the love that we’re here to share. Living a life out of harmony with one's authentic self can lead to many setbacks, health issues and broken relationships. Nature will (sometimes literally) push back until we live our authentic selves. The universe wants the natural order of things to play out in the way they’re supposed to.
Let November be a month of exploration. When we dip our toes into the water, or maybe even throw ourselves into it. Let this month be a month when we live a little more according to the natural order of how we have evolved to express ourselves.
